program that provides an opportunity for your
doctor to diagnose and evaluate your cardiovascular
system. This evaluation will help your doctor
formulate short and long-term therapeutic strategies
that will help you live a healthier lifestyle
and eventually improve your cardiovascular illnesses.
Who should see a Consultative
Cardiologist
This consultative approach is
designed for people who have a history of heart
disease, those individuals that are at risk for
heart disease, or simply for patients that would
like to know their risk for future cardiovascular
illnesses.
What will the program include
- The physician will create
a program to aggressively control risk factors
associated with cholesterol and blood pressure
- There will be intensive
education to promote a heart-healthy lifestyle
- Patients will receive an
individualized nutrition assessment, education,
and support services
- The physician will provide
smoking cessation referrals
- Patients receive specialized
cholesterol and lipoprotein measurements
- Patients receive state-of-the-art
catheter and surgical interventions
- Patients with complex cardiovascular
diseases will have access to experimental programs
with emerging technologies
Are there other programs
or consultations
Yes. Some patient may qualify
for pre and peri-operative evaluations, second
opinion consultation, risk-stratification of pre-existing
cardiovascular conditions, integration of multiple
or complex therapeutic regimens, and evaluation
for possible surgical or catheter-based interventions,
and long-term cardiovascular follow-up care are
provided by the Consultative Cardiologist.
